HONEYMOON
I never wrote about our honeymoon, SO here is a big fat late post about it. The Cancun surprise honeymoon was ruined by our dear friend Mac. He told me right as we were going down our sparkler exit at the wedding reception--but I was definitely SO excited :) We left early in the morning the next day after our stay at Little America and everything about honeymoon was totally perfect for us. The flight was only 4 hours, where we stayed was AMAZING, and the weather was perfect :)
We got to our room at the Omni resort and totally passed out--it was like the last 4 months of sleep deprivation with wedding planning and school hit us like a ton of bricks. We had an all inclusive resort so we definitely ate more food than we could ever imagine--room service became our best friend. We had a lot of time down on the beach and the rest of the week was spent parasailing, ATV riding, zip-lining, jet skiing on the ocean, visiting some ancient aztec ruins, swimming in cenotes, and our favorite was SKY DIVING. Jack surprised me for my birthday :)
The week was 6 days of total honeymoon bliss. We lived up the free drinks and food, but the best part was hunkering down and buying deck of cards to play our fave game crazy bridge. It was a fun thing to do while waiting for food and hanging out in our room.
Probably the funniest thing that went down was when we first got there we were checking in and the guy at the desk confirmed that we didn't drink alcohol so I figured that when we got to the room and our room service guy was pouring us a drink of something that it was going to be a virgin drink...turns out that it totally wasn't and I downed a glass of champagne. SWEEEET. The next funniest story was we had an excursion planned to go ATV riding and Zip lining--we get in the van to leave and we walk in with 6 black chicks that fill every ghetto black chick stereotype you can imagine, then we go to our next stop to find out that 6 random black guys also were riding with us. We listened to so much ghetto music you could ever imagine haha :)
Anyway, we loved every minute of our honeymoon and were sad to come home to real life haha.
