The Loud and Proud Olsens

Jack and I met on a blind date set up by our friends Rhea Walters and Mat Winterholler on January 5, 2018. I remember being so excited and nervous to be set up on a date and to put myself out there again after returning home from my mission. He opened the door to Rhea's house and I was listening to him as I was changing out of my dress from a reception I had gone to earlier. I walked down her hallway and there he was. I feel like I saw him and he seemed familiar...everything about how he acted and his demeanor reminded me of someone I feel like I knew. Immediately I felt comfortable around him and happy to be around someone so full of life. We played Code Names--and were immensely impressed that we were such a good team ;) then we hot tubbed and watched the movie Hitch...always a crowd pleaser.

The best part about the whole night was me thinking that it was a good date but in my experience with blind dates led me to believe that I probably wouldn't see him again...it left me very surprised when he texted me a few days later and I mistakenly thought his number was my brother Jack's haha :)

The next few months was me wanting to branch out and spend time meeting new people and dating... I wanted to have some care free fun without having a relationship to worry about, because I felt like in the past that's how I had spent my mission and life, thinking about other people and what they needed...this was MY time now right? But I feel like as cheesy as it sounds, often times when you aren't looking for something like love, thats when it decides to sneak up behind you. Jack would ask me several times if we could just date over the course of us basically already dating but I didn't want to commit...a few times roommates were listening behind the front door of our deep conversations like such, they would laugh at my excuses I told him of why I didn't want to date exclusively haha :)

We continued to spend lots of time together...and I just fell in love with his happy-go-lucky attitude, goofy demeanor, and kindness. :) He made me feel like his friend, someone he loved, and an adventure buddy all in one.... So of course I wanted to date him and I gave in late March after we had spent a fun weekend in Moab at his fraternity formal!!
