Bula from Fiji

August 1-13

We just spent the last 12 days in Fiji and it was absolutely AMAZING. Fiji might go down for one of prettiest places I have ever seen. Right up there with Heli Skiing. The traveling was not as bad as it has been for me in the past...and I think Jack is probably a big reason for that. I don't know what it is about being married...it just makes everything in my life so pleasant. I feel like normally being stuck on a plane for 11 hours would have made me want to die but this time it was totally awesome. :) I love my husband that makes traveling so fun.

We spent the first couple of nights in Suva where Tom served his mission. We stayed in an Airbnb that had a freakishly steep driveway...walking up that with a 50 pound (exactly by the way--we were beyond proud of putting that on the scale at the airport) suitcase in my Tevas. Kate and I fell many times. This was definitely the most interesting part of my mission. We were roughing it just like my mission...also, driving around Suva was a PTSD/throwback/awesome time because it reminded me of my mission so much. So the first couple of days were cool, but not as good as staying at an all inclusive resort...go figure.

We stayed at the Bon Voy Marriott where I found out that I have been pronouncing Mariott wrong my whole life. That was embarrassing as I'll get out haha. But our hotel was BEAUTIFUL. We spent our days bumming it at the beach, sailing on the catamaran, and eating lots of good food. :) Some of the other activities we did were jet skiing and SCUBA DIVING. Yes I went scuba diving, it was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had...I was pretty nervous not gonna lie to begin with. After we got checked off with all of our skills and stuff we went out to the boat and had a 15 or so minute boat ride out. Once we got in the water and were going down the rope it was the most UNREAL experience. We went out to a coral reef, it was so cool.

On another day we went island hopping to some of the outer islands on Fiji. THAT WAS SO COOL as well. One of the islands is where they filmed Cast Away...and that sparked us watching it that night. Super fun day!

The whole trip was awesome. We spent the last few days at the Sheraton hotel. We could not get enough sun and the pretty sunsets. It also was super fun to hang with Jacks family and I felt like trips are what bond you together. :) We had tons of fun, so blessed to visit the the world.
