First time at Hebgen
I have listened to Jack talk about Hebgen lake since we started dating, maybe even before we started dating. I listened to his family talk about Hebgen for so long as well...so it was nice to finally go there and experience it for myself. It was all that I expected and more...It was SO beautiful. I drove up by myself because I went to Disneyland while Jack headed straight up...and it was interesting to drive up there alone. I feel like I had a lot of time to just think and be. I feel often times I think a lot about events, people, myself...but my sojourn to Hebgen was just a time for me to just be me. I didn't think about a ton honestly, I didn't force anything on myself and that made things really nice. It was a pleasant drive up. :)
The Ranch where we stayed was totally retro. It looks like the family hasn't done a ton of updating so it gave it a very authentic, seasoned feel which I loved. It was awesome. They cram a lot of people into that place but Jack and I had our own room which was nice...sometimes being around a lot of family for a lot of days I crave a little alone time.
We did lots of boating and hanging at the beach which I absolutely loved. :) I water skied on glaaasss for the first time in my life so that was an awesome feeling...it came with a price though. I had a hard crash of 2 full cycles with the ski before hitting the water that resulted in an impalement to my arm. I had to get a few stitches when we headed down to Idaho Falls to go to Ebby's graduation. I had a solid headache and a big bruise on my arm as well. So that was a not so fun thing that happened.
We spent a night in Rexburg that was pretty fun! We met Jack's cousin's that have lived in Tokyo. They were here for Ebby's graduation so we spent some time celebrating at an Airbnb down there :)
This trip I was big into people watching. I think you can get to know people prett well when you watch their actions, and while I would stalkerishly watch Jack's family and extended family I became a lot more aware of what my actions are saying about me. All in all Hebgen was a great trip, so blessed to see beautiful places.
