Arches and Canyonlands
August 31 - September 2, 2019
We spent labor day weekend with Ben and Mikayli in Moab. We honestly had such an awesome weekend. We did so many fun hikes and I experienced/saw things that I had never seen before, I feel like that always makes me appreciate the world and gives me a clearer perspective on what makes me happy in life.
The whole weekend I felt like Jack and I were in the best moods. It had been like a week or so since we were able to spend our entire day together. :) So it was nice to have be our reality for a few days. I love hanging out with my husband...school makes that hard.
We spent the first day in Arches...and we were tour guides for Ben and Mikayli. We took them to Delicate Arch and it was kind of a surreal moment to be there again. We first went to Moab for Jack's fraternity formal in March of 2018...if you would have asked me if a year or so later we would be back at that same spot but married I would have thought you were crazy. Life can take you some pretty amazing places. It was SO SO hot this day but it didn't stop us from having a very full day of adventuring around.
The next day we stayed the night at a hotel and that was super nice. :) I loved having a shower and a nice bed. I got sick with some really swollen tonsils so that wasn't super fun. We did a really pretty canyon hike, it had this really pretty arch at the end but we were the only people on the trail it seemed like. This was our favorite hike we did.
Monday we met up with Dallon and Sam in Canyonlands. I had never been to Canyonlands and it was SO amazing. It is so wild how big the canyons and features are of the park. We went on some amazing hikes. It was an awesome day.
We drove home later on Monday. And I had a husband appreciation moment. I was feeling super feverish and sick, it came on full force after we dropped Ben and Mikayli off. It was the longest 45 minute drive home from Provo. We pulled up the the condo and Jack basically carried me up the stairs, got me in the shower, held my hair for me when I was throwing up, got me dressed and in bed, gave me everything I asked for, and cleaned out the whole car. It was a rock bottom moment and it made me grateful I married someone SO kind and patient :)
