"Crime doesn't pay"
A couple of weeks ago Jack told me to block out the day for Saturday because he wanted to take me on a surprise date. It made me smile that he still wants to surprise me and take me out :) We went to Cheesecake Factory...we spent the last of our gift cards there, now we will have to be adults and pay for our whole meal next time we go there. While we were there, he told me that he got us tickets to see Brian Regan, it was TOTALLY not what I was expecting. I made some guesses throughout the week....are we going ax throwing? Is it a group date with someone? He caught me off guard.
It was fun to get out and have a fun night together, Brian Regan was really funny. The highlight for me was when he talked about how we don't just say "crime is bad," but we come up with other sayings.
I talked to Clay on Monday. He was having issues where he felt depressed about his situation, he ended up getting emergency transferred to a new area. It brought me back to times on my mission and even now when I have felt that. I mostly remembered when I was with companions who told me I wasn't a good missionary and stuff like that...it makes me sad he has to learn those lessons. But I honestly look back, and the biggest takeaway I have is remembering my self worth. I matter, and I am important to society.
I finished up a RTA clinical today at IMC. It went well, I worked with DME equipment, probably not what I would like to do but I know it comes with the job. They are hiring at IMC, it would be so nice to work there.
Jack is getting antsy to hear back from his interview with Cicero. I hope it will be good news. It is hard to have your future in the hands of other people, but he is taking it in stride. :)
