Quarantine Life
So. A pandemic hit us with the Corona Virus and so the world has had to do some adjusting in order to avoid spreading it. We have been asked by the president to practice social distancing and to avoid gatherings more than 10. They made that announcement a little bit before my birthday, so its been about a month and a half since they have implemented it. Jack is working from home, all the universities are doing online school, and I have still been going into work.
Jack and I have definitely had mix feelings about the whole thing. I think Jack likes not having to work with his coworkers and I think he has been counting down the days until he leaves Caption Call for a while now. Jack is going to be graduating and I think he is sad that he won't be able to spend the rest of his senior year with all of his friends at the U, not so much about inauguration. On the other hand, it is nice to be in pajamas all day and be able to take breaks in the middle of the day to go golfing.
I have felt like this has been a nice break from the crazy semester I have been having. I have been taking my EKG class for the past 6 weeks and then also my crazy class load, its definitely been nice to catch up on some sleep and I have finally started trail running! I have been wanting to do that for a while now. I have never felt healthier honestly. I LOOOVE it. But I also have felt a little behind in school just because I am not with the equipment or getting that hands on learning like I am used to. Definitely a challenge. I recently took the EKG test to become an editor, we have to get a 75 to pass and I walked out of the test feeling like I probably would have to retake it. I studied but definitely not as much as I should have. I walked out with a 76! Hahaha. I was so shocked and relieved. I am really proud of myself because I have only studied for the class during work and I only work 24 hours a week, only 3 of us have taken it so far and the other two are full time.
A regular day for us is bed head and no pants. We have had to navigate our zoom meetings a little bit more now and that is a little hard and technology just adds a whole different element. It has been an interesting time, and I can't believe that we are living through this. The hospital has been weirdly quiet. We have over 20 Corona patients but it really has been quiet for my job, I go into isolation rooms facing it head on and I really feel super calm about things. Not sure if I should be panicking or not but that is definitely not the vibe at our house.
All I can say is I feel very relaxed with my life and I love it. I feel that I have time for me and that is something I really appreciate. :)
